Durante l'ultima puntata di RAW è stato annunciato che a Extreme Rules 2014 il WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan affronterà Kane con in palio il titolo. Più tardi è stata anche aggiunta una stipulazione speciale a questo incontro: sarà un Extreme Rules Match.
Sempre a RAW è stato inoltre annunciato un altro match per il PPV: Alexander Rusev vs R-Truth & Xavier Woods in un Handicap Match.
